The Wetlands

Two signs that Halloween is near. Red leaves on the ground and I'm wearing my purple Crocs.

Have I mentioned the weather has been terrible here? Of course I have. I've done pretty much nothing but complain all summer. As you can see from the trees it's still summer here. It's still too warm. It's still too humid.

But at least yesterday we had a breeze. We went down to the boardwalk but it was a circus. Everyone had the same idea so we left and went over to the wetlands park instead.

We went there on Monday but it smelled so bad we left. The tide was out and the mud was exposed and it was really stinky.

The ground was actually dry today. I didn't have to go home and give Pup a bath. It's been a muddy mess here since early spring. I think we just went three whole days without rain. Hallelujah.

If you follow the trail over the water it takes you to a pine forest. I love pine trees. I love pine needle forest floors. Pup apparently does too. It was the best day out we've had all summer.

  1. We're all so excited because we're supposed to get 1/4 to 1/2 inch of rain on Saturday. We had a few small showers a couple of weeks ago but that was our first rain since the first week of June. Everything is so dry here. Even 1/4 inch will help tremendously with the fire. Isn't it crazy? You have way too much moisture and we don't have enough.
I sure wish you could get a camper too. I think you would really enjoy it. Maybe all of your blogging pals need to write to the Mister. :-) I'm glad you got out today and had a good time.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  6. That looks like a lovely part of Maryland. I miss the Delaware and MD beaches so much. Was it the O.C. boardwalk that you tried to venture out on? One of these days we will make it down there. Haven't been since last fall and it's calling to me.

    1. We are on the Chesapeake Bay in S MD right over the line in Calvert. We have a beautiful boardwalk in our little beach town with lovely restaurants. It's very quaint and worth a day trip-once the Pandemic is over. We are pretty closed up here and that's been a very good thing.
