February!

I think the theme for February will be socks. I don't know why but my sock knitting mojo has come roaring back. I even bought two new balls of sock yarn in some manly colors.

I've got three pair on the needles. This one is Static in the Peppercorn colorway.

This pair is Regia in one of the Lofoten colorways from Arne and Carlos.

This pair is some vintage Felici I had in the stash in the Sunset colorway.

And....speaking of sock yarn. I had this pretty Capretta in the stash in the Woodstock colorway.....

.....that's become another try at the Musselburgh hat that was such an epic fail. It took me all afternoon to get this far and that was after another whole day of trying. I hate circular cast ons. I hate M1L and M1R increases but I was determined to get it right. I should be able to do this. I need to be able to do this. It's become a crusade.

  2. I've knit two Musselburgh hats and the cast on was a nightmare! I don't know how many times I cast on and ripped out to try to get it right. In the end I just did as small a circle as possible and cinched it close with the yarn tail. That worked quite well without so many curse words!
I can *crochet* a magic loop with no problem...

  5. Sock yarns are so tempting, aren't they? I don't like toe up patterns or starting at the top of anything either.
