Boxes weren't the only new things to show up last week. I also invested in a new circular needle. Invested is the right word because these things are not cheap.
I'm a big fan of Knit Picks needles but when I went to order the 16 inch size I needed for the Musselburgh hat they were out of stock so I went looking in other places. I found this Hiya Hiya circular on Amazon and what a difference those sharp points make when you are doing those increases. It's a game changer.
Now that I can stretch my work out on a circular I can see that my 2 day struggle with that crazy cast on was worth it. I'm pleased. I used Emily Ocker's version and something finally clicked. I do have one weird little bump that came from doing who knows what but since it's a HUGE improvement I'm still doing a well earned happy dance. Now if I can only get that sizing right....
That Musselburgh is looking great!ReplyDelete
I’d probably stab myself with those sharp tips because I have a tendency to push the needle with the pointer finger on my left hand.ReplyDelete
I've never used the hiya hiya, but Mom has and she loves them! If you haven't, try Chiaogoo Red lace needles - great points on them tooReplyDelete
The hat is looking great. Just watch those points. I stabbed myself pretty good with ChiaGoo Sharps. YIKES!ReplyDelete
That's a truth--the tools sure make a project glide or sink!!!! The hat looks beautiful!ReplyDelete
