Sixty Six

Howdy, folks. It's my birthday. I wanted to document what 66 looks like on me and I discovered that my Chromebook takes the best photos. Without any filters or editing they make me look all soft and fuzzy and at my age that's the best you can do. Sigh....

The Mister gave me my birthday things yesterday since the place is such a mess that he thought he might lose them. That's real maple syrup, vodka and a card he made from all my recent card leftovers.

The vodka is wearing a sweater. How cute is that? The way things are going around here we may need a lot of vodka. Lots. I think The Mister has already gone through two bottles of Captain Morgan. The floor guy is coming tomorrow to give us an estimate. That should be fun. Not.

After taking the weekend off from tearing the place up, I said I'd have some FO's. Well, I have one. It's the Where the Wind Blows Cardi and I love it. It fits perfectly. I had my doubts when I was knitting it but it's lovely and so useful on a cold morning.

Soldotna was supposed to be done today too but I am wrestling with doubts about how wide the bottom ribbing should be. The last one rolled like a big dog so I frogged the whole darn thing and now I am so afraid it will roll again that I just don't want to bind it off and ruin my day. It will wait. I need to work up some courage. Maybe a shot of that vodka will help.

  3. Happy birthdayDebbie. You look wonderful. I’m almost 63 and sure wish my hair wasn’t all grey. But that’s the luck. Enjoy your vodka. And give it a few more rows of ribbing to be safe

  9. It is a beautiful looking knit! Why not leave slits on the sides of the bottom-that prevents pulling in on our tummies and it also gives a bit of less tension so it doesn't roll!
