The Mister gave me my birthday things yesterday since the place is such a mess that he thought he might lose them. That's real maple syrup, vodka and a card he made from all my recent card leftovers.
The vodka is wearing a sweater. How cute is that? The way things are going around here we may need a lot of vodka. Lots. I think The Mister has already gone through two bottles of Captain Morgan. The floor guy is coming tomorrow to give us an estimate. That should be fun. Not.
After taking the weekend off from tearing the place up, I said I'd have some FO's. Well, I have one. It's the Where the Wind Blows Cardi and I love it. It fits perfectly. I had my doubts when I was knitting it but it's lovely and so useful on a cold morning.
Soldotna was supposed to be done today too but I am wrestling with doubts about how wide the bottom ribbing should be. The last one rolled like a big dog so I frogged the whole darn thing and now I am so afraid it will roll again that I just don't want to bind it off and ruin my day. It will wait. I need to work up some courage. Maybe a shot of that vodka will help.
Happy birthday! 66 looks great. Enjoy YOUR day.
ReplyDeleteHaPpY, HaPpY Birthday dear Debbie! It looks like The Mister gave you some well thought out gifts. The sweaters both look lovely. I hope your birthday was wonderful and I'm so glad you included a photo of yourself. You are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Happy birthdayDebbie. You look wonderful. I’m almost 63 and sure wish my hair wasn’t all grey. But that’s the luck. Enjoy your vodka. And give it a few more rows of ribbing to be safe

ReplyDeleteHappiest of Birthdays! We are the same age and you look FABULOUS!!! I'd raise a glass of cheer to celebrate with you. Your cardigan turned out so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful looking knit! Why not leave slits on the sides of the bottom-that prevents pulling in on our tummies and it also gives a bit of less tension so it doesn't roll!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Love your finished cardigan: it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYou look great!! I hope you enjoy your special day and have many more to look forward to!!
