Seeing Stars

On one of my many trips to Ikea I picked up one of those big paper stars that they hang all over the place at this time of year.

I said I wasn't going to do any decorating but I thought a cheap paper star might be just the thing to light the solstice.

Somebody else liked it too. Too much in fact. Wanna take some bets it doesn't last through the New Year?

In other news we are still at it. Making a mess is our specialty these days. If you haven't visited the Yarn Harlot's blog this week you have to go there now. No sooner had I showed The Mister her last two horrific posts when I had pretty much the same experience happen to me-but on a much smaller scale thank goodness. The Mister was NOT amused.

  1. That star is beautiful! I haven't seen one. Where have I been? I haven't read the Yarn Harlot this week. Maybe I should head over there now.

  2. I just had to leave another comment. I just read Stephanies last three posts. Oh. My. Goodness. I can't believe she didn't come completely unglued. Now I can't wait to hear your story. :-) You must have survived since you're still writing.

  3. Oh no. Not good. Only time it happened to us was when we were newlyweds and the white paint fell on a brown carpet in den... had hated carpet but we were poor. When hubby took up carpet we discovered lovely hardwood. 😍 allended better. Cheryl aka seajaes

  4. Love the star. I think you're correct about "somebody" being a bit too interested in it.

  5. That's a gorgeous star - almost makes me want to brave Ikea!

Other than my baskets out front, I haven't done any decorating. I keep meaning to dig the tree out, but by the time work and sewing are done, I just want to veg.

  6. Oh man, I saw the spilled paint post the other day. Yuck! That star is gorgeous. I didn't know they sold those at Ikea. I don't really want to drive over there and brave the crowds though.....

  7. The star looks so cheerful and I can understand the feline fascination with the star. Glad your painting mishap was not too terrible.

  10. Copycat! :) Oh gosh, I hope your paint spill wasn't anywhere close to Stephanie's. Good grief! I can't imagine having to clean up the mess she made. Love the star! Happy New Year!
