75?

 Yesterday's surprise party went off without a hitch. I was the birthday girl's ride and I got her there on time without spilling the beans.


Speaking of the birthday girl, she showed up wearing......leather pants and boots. Who does that at 75? I want to be her when I grow up. She had new gold highlights in her hair and looked fabulous.



The lodge was beautiful but it was packed. Service was slow but it didn't matter because we were there to talk.


 The food, when it finally arrived, was amazing. That's shrimp and grits.



 Of course while everyone was eating their yummies I was stuck with a starter salad-dressing on the side. I've learned my lesson the hard way with restaurant food and wanted to enjoy my day and not end up with a tummy ache.


Although they have the Smith Island Cake that I adore on the menu, we brought in cupcakes for our little party. It was a great day. Maybe this birthday thing, even at our age, isn't so terrible after all.

    What a wonderful day you all had! Just as well to take care of your digestion = that salad looked pretty delicious! So did the cupcakes although Smith Island Cake is pretty amazing!

    I hope I'm able to pull off leather pants at 75. Heck, I'd like to be able to pull them off at 57 but... Sounds like you had a great time.
