Friday Fluff on Saturday

The California Red that I've been spinning is not making me happy. I'm not liking the clown barf colorway.

My big bin of the dyed fleece contains a lot more colors that I think will play nicer together so I need to rethink this whole thing.

What I need to do is card more colors and then start all over again with a better plan. I want these to be a pair of winter Croc socks one day so they need to be something I like looking at.

I hate to drag out the drum carder this time of year. I'd rather be doing this outside but since it is still too muggy and buggy I cleaned off the soap making table and gave it a go inside. There was a lot of vacuuming involved when I was done but I did end up with a nice neutral colored batt to show for my efforts. I'm going to have to work my way through that bin one color at a time so hopefully Mother Nature will be on my side soon and give me a day outside. I could do this all day if the weather is right.

  1. I have a fleece waiting for me and cooler weather, too. It waits. The neutral would be a good strand to ply with the colorful one-they will balance each other!
