Wednesday WIPs: Deep Freeze Edition

Brrrr......it was cold yesterday. I had to run out for a grocery pickup all by myself because we didn't want to turn off the heating huts or bowls for the outside kitties. I've given up trying to get them in. We even built a door thing out of some foam core insulation board so they could come in and out at will but they want to stay out. I'm staying in. I threw a fluffy blanket on the couch and Pup and I spent the rest of the day knitting and watching old movies.

I finished one of the little socks but I don't like it. The foot is too short and pointy and the leg is too floppy. I'm probably wasting my time but I am going to start again with more ribbing and more foot length.

I also picked this up again and didn't have any better luck with it. I had to pull out the colorwork on the sleeve and start again when I lost track of where I was and got the sequence mixed up. It wasn't the most productive day but it was a day. I'm afraid to look at the weather but I really could use some milder temps and a day outside.

  1. I think the sock looks fine! Good luck with it. And I think our temps are supposed to be a little bit milder today. Hope yours are too.

  2. I know your weather will be vastly different than ours, but we've got a roller coaster. We had three or four days of a deep freeze, now it's up to just above freezing, but it's suppose to fall dramatically again by the weekend... then back up....
    I'm ready for spring!

  3. You will get the sock (and the sweater) to work out eventually! Good idea to cozy up and watch old movies!

  4. Some days are like that but it's still fun to play with the needles isn't it?
We're in the 50's again today but have up to 8 inches of snow predicted for Friday and Saturday. Crazy weather!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. Baby/toddler socks look funky. I usually knit a ribbed cuff because it can adapt to the size of the calf and tends to stay on the leg. Love the mini sweater.
