I was in the sewing room working on the little quilt for the new Grand when I got a text from Daughter saying that her friend, the one that just threw Daughter her shower, has Covid, poor thing. She's also expecting so it's very worrisome.
Three years ago Daughter and I threw her a shower for her now 3 year old little boy. I made her this little quilt for him. She's expecting a little girl in March so I had been toying with the idea of making something pretty in pink. Daughter is throwing her a sprinkle next month-Covid permitting.
I wasted a whole afternoon scouring every fabric site I know looking at charm packs and yardage and came up empty handed. How could it be so hard to find a pink fabric collection that is suitable for a baby quilt? I had no luck at all so that whole idea is on the back burner. I'm gonna keep on looking but I'm running out of time.
I'm sorry to hear about your daughters friend and the dreaded covid. I now about 30 people personally right now that have it. Luckily, we haven't been around any of them recently.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised how much the girls don't really want pink anymore. I have given some girls a choice between pink or lavender blankets for their baby girl or more subdued colors like tans, khaki, browns or cream and they always choose the later. I don't understand it, but they do. Maybe you can find some cute prints in cream?
Blessings,
Betsy
Hard to imagine you can't find pink charm packs! Hope your daughter's friend is ok. Covid is not funny and being pregnant would be even worse!
ReplyDeleteoh she's throwing a sprink1e!!!!! that is so cute.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe you can't find suitable pinks. Times sure have changed! Hope your daughter's friend recovers quickly.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping for something to click!
ReplyDeleteI like that one you showed, but it's definitely not very baby. It is sweet though.
