Tiny Needle Tuesday

I'e gotten some work done on the nautical sampler this week because I've been hiding downstairs with Pup while the oven is doing its burn off thing for several days in a row. Four times I've cranked it up and it still smells awful. I wouldn't eat anything out of it yet so it's getting annoying.

After about an hour the burn smell goes out the windows so I can get back upstairs but the toy tree is slow going. I did a little duck and a few more branches this week but that's it.

I had the binding sewn on the memory quilt but it looked awful so I took it off and trimmed off about a half an inch from the last white border. I had used some floppy material and it did not take well to the machine quilting so cutting it back made it play nicely on the edges. It was a pain but it was worth it to get rid of the ripples and the puckers.

Of course this is how I am spending most of my day. Can you believe we still haven't even got to the corner yet? Cutting the tile around the window was not a lot of fun-and we still have the other side of the window to do. Argh....

  2. I wonder why your stove has that terrible smell. Are you sure there isn't some packing tape or plastic melting in there somewhere?
    Love your stitching, tho! :)

  3. Still loving that sampler and well done on your patience in redoing the quilt.
I remember that burn off smell and how disgusting it is. I hope it's gone for good soon. I also think you're making great progress on the kitchen. Very soon it will be done and worth all of the headaches.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. You are making progress with the tiles! Soon it will be history! I would call the customer support line about the oven...it should be beyond the original burn off!
