Tiny Needle Tuesday

I managed to get that top flower border started over the past week. I think I spent more time organizing my floss than I did stitching. I hate how fiddly the flowers are. You only do a few stitches in each color and then it's time to change. I hate searching through the colors to find what I need so I bagged up all the flower and stem colors so they are easier to find.

That's all I have for tiny needles because the sewing side of the sewing/soap room looks like this. I had to move all my spinning stash that was in the living area in there for the duration. It's a mess.

Yesterday was shifting day. We had to move everything out of the kitchen/dining area and put it into the living room area.  We also managed to take out the big pantry and empty out all the base cabinets. That was a job.

What I was really looking forward to was pulling up all the old dirty plastic and replacing it with new. It was a yucky mess. I'm pretty sure that if you have to replace your plastic your remodel job has gone on too long.

The living area isn't actually too terrible. We filled boxes and boxes with stuff we are going to take to Goodwill today so everything fit into the nooks and crannies we have rather nicely. I even got my TV back but to tell you the truth I didn't miss it. The biggest fight The Mister and I have had in a long time was over the cable bill. I don't have a clue as to why we pay $260 a month for a thousand channels we never watch. I am pretty much all streaming, all the time anymore. The only time I watch the TV is if I am spinning and that's not happening for a while. I was tempted to drag out a wheel but.....no. It was a very rare occasion where common sense won

  1. I would love to ditch our cable...but I'm the one who doesn't watch much TV at all. The other one watches ALL the time! Your stitching is so pretty.

  3. Progress! I can see why you can't get to many of your sewing supplies though. Just think, soon it will all be done and you'll have a new kitchen and easy access to all of your toys again. I feel the same about cable. We never watch television anymore except NCIS on Tuesday nights. It's Dennis' only show he likes and we've seen every episode. But is it worth the cable bill just for one show?

  4. I would go nuts without the TV, we bundle land line, internet and TV and it is $200. Well worth my sanity! Your project is moving along!

  5. YIKES .....cable is expensive down your way. I'd LOVE to give up cable all together, BUT I do enjoy watching sports and you have to have cable to get it in real time.

  6. Lovely little stitches.
Mom's been having the same argument with my Dad over cable for a long time. She finally cut him down to basic cable, but she'd like that gone too. They share a Netflix log-on with my brother, and Amazon Prime Video with me. And they have an extensive library of movie/show files on a hard drive. He's mostly watching reruns of sitcoms, but he just won't let it go.

  7. Your sampler gets prettier with each stitching session. Great organization idea for floss for the flowers. It is amazing to see the process and what you are accomplishing in your renovation. It also reinforces my decision that I could never live thru the process. I admire you guys for all you tackle and complete.

  8. LOL, Yes, I'd say if you have to replace your plastic, the remodel is taking it's sweet time! Looks like you are making progress though and the cross stitch looks great! And wow! I'm gagging over your cable bill. I was upset about my $14 Netflix bill. :)

  9. We talk about dropping cable, too. Talk about it. I hope you see progress on the renovation take a bit leap forward for sanity's sake!
