Sew, Sew Sunday

It's the NFL playoffs so that means I had Saturday AND Sunday to play in the sewing room while The Mister was plopped on the couch in front of the TV.

I had to make two more of the little blocks that didn't have the same prints touching. Silly me, I discovered that if I lay them out first you can avoid that touching thing.

You know I already knew that. I had just deluded myself into thinking I could wing it.  Now I have four to go together to make the big block.

I have seven big blocks all together. I need two more which means eight more little blocks. The end is near. Maybe not this winter but next for sure.

I also got to spend some time with this. I have only one more block to machine quilt and then I get to move onto the sashing in between the blocks. At the moment I have no idea how I am going to quilt the sashing so I guess I have some homework to do.

  1. Those purples and blues are so pretty.

While the football games did not turn out like I would have liked, I have to admit, I got a LOT of knitting done.

  2. I love that purple fabric in your blocks. They're beautiful blocks, but that quilt is fabulous. I know I sound like a broken record when I tell you every time how much I like it. :-)

  5. The quilting on the Dresden blocks looks fantastic! I'm not brave enough to attempt free motion quilting on my machine.

  6. Lovely work and lovely patterns and colors! Quilts can be difficult to work on (I don't know from experience) but yours certainly do bring a smile to my day!

  8. Those blue/purple blocks are just beautiful! I love the fabrics you are using. The dresdens are looking just awesome and so close to the quilting being complete. I seem to forget that I am not done at that point and still have binding to attach.

  12. What gorgeous blocks! It kills me to think of you being so close to finishing and putting it away until next year. How do you stand to do that? LOL Just the thought makes me physically uncomfortable. And now I'm wondering, which one of us is the weird one? :)
