Homeward Bound

As I write this post Daughter just texted me to say they are boarding the flight for home. She couldn't resist one last purchase and it's a good one. I knew she wouldn't be able to resist the call of the lopapeysa. This one is a beauty. I can't wait to get my hands on it so I can look at how it is constructed.

So how'd I do with all those projects I packed when I was in panic mode? Well, I have to laugh because I really thought I would have Soldotna finished over my holiday. Nope. Not even close.

I managed to do only 6 more rows on the Loftoten. I've had to resort to writing out each row. The chart is a bit wibbly wobbly and I can't knit from it without stopping and figuring out every stitch. Writing it out takes time but it's worth it. This is a complicated pattern. In case you are wondering what the steek is for, it's because you are knitting both sleeves in the round at the same time. It's hard to wrap your head around it and to tell you the truth, I've got my doubts about how all this will eventually play out.

I did get a good start on my latest giant man sock but the Northern Lights redo got frogged-again. I just may give up on this. I just can't seem to get the stitch count right. The first was too small. The latest try would have been HUGE. Sigh.

After I finished the first socks for the gift box I rewarded myself with casting on some stripey twins. They should give me another quick finish for the New Year.

I did get my house done but poor Dear Jane never came out of her bin. I forgot to bring my clips and without them you can't get those teeny tiny pieces to do what you need them to do.

Then there was this. It's my new thing for the new year and it came along for the ride too. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow.

  4. You DID get a lot accomplished though. I always think I'll get more done than I actually do. I really like your Soldotna and your daughters new sweater is gorgeous. The house is done! Yay!
Now what is that at the end? It looks like it "could" be Japanese writing? Hard to tell. I'll be waiting with bated breath to find out what it is. :-)
    Blessings,
    Betsy
