A Brief Moment of Elation

Ta dah.......the molding is done. The living area is finally complete. There was cussing but nothing like the day before. I love the new white molding. We had a wide oak molding before and I am going to be replacing it through out the whole house. I am over the floor to ceiling wood look.

The sight of all that open space filled with sunlight made me strangely giddy yesterday afternoon.

Of course it was short lived. We are taking the weekend off from the mess but on Monday we have to shift all this into that open living space so we can get at the dining room floor. Sigh.

As miserable as that sounds I have to keep my eye on the prize. It's time to start getting serious about my new kitchen. I'm glad we took a little pause to do the living room because all doubt has been erased. I know exactly what I want now.

I also have two new soaps fresh out of the molds to show off. This is Seventh Heaven. I have no idea what it smells like but it smells good.

This is Orange-sicle. I loved this scent in the last body butter I made but I am not too sure about it in soap. I am hoping a six week cure will mellow it out some. I'll have to wait and see.

  2. We have white woodwork and I really like it. It does make things much brighter although we have to touch it up every so often. Your ceilings are beautiful too.
I can imagine how excited you are to have your new kitchen too. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
The soaps are beautiful. I would love to be able to smell the heavenly smells in your soap room. :-)

  5. Very interested to find out your decisions about the new kitchen! Living with the mess of remodeling is my worst thing but looking past the mess to the expected result is the key. Just like looking at a few rows of knitting or stitching and seeing the finished item!

  7. The sunlight streaming in and across your new floors is beautiful. Just a reward for all of your hard work. White molding is my favorite as I think it makes a room look bright and cheerful. Your soaps look beautiful also.
