KAL and CAL Crazy

So I went and committed myself to the lace Advent Scarf KAL and the Grinch-A-Long at the same time I am still participating in the Cosy Colours CAL. I must be mad. Even so, I am really, really enjoying working on this pretty little blankie even though it got off to a rocky start.

What you see is try number three. One was too tight, two was too floopy but three seems to be just right. I credit a new needle size. I went with the 4.5 you see on the bottom. The pretty green Caspian needle will have to wait for another project.

My ends are also working out better due to the expert advice I got in the comments when I was whining about them and also by looking at the photos in the tutorial and not just following the written directions. I've discovered I'm no good at "reading" crochet and the tutorial really helps if I use it faithfully to find my way. My only wish is that the Knit Picks Brava came in more colors. I'm at the point now where I am going to have to deviate from the original color progression and that is not making me happy.

  1. Well done for the repeated attempts - so disheartening, but great when you finally hit the mark. I look forward to seeing which colours you go for next :)

  2. Oh, so pretty! You have a good color sense, so just make your own sequence of stripes! Delightful!

  5. KAL and CAL after ripping back and multiple tries? Are you trying for sainthood? I kid and give you a hard time, simply because I'm holding myself back from jumping off in to the abyss of multiple new projects. Good luck with it all, we love watching it knit and crochet up!
