A Change of Pace

You probably know by now that I am not a very single minded person. I spend all day flitting from one activity to another. I've been knee deep in Tour projects for almost three weeks now and something had to give. Enter a gift from Sandflies. She sent me these finger protectors......

.....which got me into the sewing room for the first time in ages to try them out on some paper piecing. They are just what I needed.

I also sat at the sewing machine for a while and made another block for the sunflower quilt. It felt great to be doing something that didn't involve anything woolly or fuzzy. I love the Tour but I am so ready for something different.

And.....Karen, if you're listening. Check your Ravelry messages. Your soap came back. I must have goofed up your address. Darn. First time I've had that happen. Sorry.

And......someone wanted to know what pattern I was using for my thrummed mitts. It's this one. It's from Zenitude and it's available for purchase on Ravelry. I originally bought a kit from her but her shop is closed right now so I found this kit on Etsy here.

  4. I've never seen anything like those finger protectors. I would imagine they would make a big difference in hand-sewing. That was sure a nice gift.
Your new block looks really nice too. I would love to try paper piecing but I'm afraid of falling down a rabbit hole. I have so many commitments with yarn already. :-)
Any news on your cabinests? We have friends that ordered theirs from Lowes a month ago and they're promised in 2 1/2 months. I just laughed.
    Blessings,

  8. Nice to shift gears, isn't it?! I was not very focused this year and kept up the other interests. I love to see you at work on your hexies and the sunflower block!!! Nice work!
