Poor Planning

I knew it. I knew that once panic set in the shelves would be empty. These half empty containers are the sum total of my anti-virus arsenal. It's not much. I forgot to pick any up on my Big Pandemic Shopping Spree last week. We've got three positive cases here in MD now so I'd feel better if I had more but there is none to be had. Not even on Amazon.

I read that you can make your own out of a high percentage alcohol and aloe gel. I have both in the soap lab but I doubt I'll have to go that far.

I've got plenty of soap here and I never miss an excuse to use it.

  1. It's crazy isn't it? I haven't left the house for two days but I need to go to the grocery store tomorrow. We're out of chocolate and that can't be allowed. Ha! I wonder if there's anything left at the store? Fortunately I saw the writing on the wall about 3 weeks ago when they said the virus would be coming here eventually and we did a Costco run. We bought toilet paper, paper towels, water, and clorox wipes. And dog food. We're stocked up pretty well on all of it. I also bought one regular size bottle of hand sanitizer and wish I had gotten another one. They are gone, gone, gone. With over 90 cases of the virus here in Washington and 11 deaths, the panic is in high gear. I think after my store trip tomorrow I may stay in until May! :-)

  2. It's nuts! I hope I can buy some TP this weekend (I should have bought it last week, but didn't). My son said Costco's shelves and Target's shelves were bare!

  3. The virus is creeping closer to Wyoming. Living in a university town with Spring Break approaching, I have a feeling it will be here soon.

  4. Places are sold out here in NJ as well - Being in a "high risk" group, I probably won't be out and about in circulation much but, thankfully, I love my home and have much to keep me busy!

  5. Just found out this morning we have "suspected" cases here. They have closed our elementary and high school today.

  6. Oh Yes. Just good soap and lather and rinse will work. I use your soaps all the time. Currently I have one of your sweet soap gifts in a small knitted tube with both ends tied closed. When it becomes pieces it silly lathers up so nicely. Kudos to Flo Nightingale who discovered hand washing was the key to successful field care of soldiers.

  7. We have one case in NC and the shelves are bare when it comes to antibacterial items. It is all very scary!

  8. Shelves here are pretty empty also. Even our choir rehearsal for last night, pretty much a first except for snow. Like Betsy, we are pretty much staying home, having just cancelled a long scheduled trip to CA and AZ.

  9. We are good here. I got two huge containers of the Lysol Fragrance Free wipes a few weeks ago at Target...glad I did. WE keep wipes in the car too and use them all the time.
I will check out our shelves here on Monday and see whats there:)

  10. Avoid stores in busy areas and only walk in the wide open!

  11. Alcohol, aloe vera gel and some essential oils and you are all set. It is much better for you than the store bought hand sanitizer that has a lot of carcinogens in it.

  12. Maybe I'll finally use up the 100 tiny bottles of scented hand sanitizer I have. I never use them because they make my hands smell then my food tastes weird. But maybe now...
