Now that the tourists are gone and the kids are back in school the beach is empty.
First you take a little hike through the woods and then.....
...you have a spectacular view.
I could have sat and watched the sun shining on the water all day. It was like an explosion of glitter.
I don't get my feet wet in the Bay often but I couldn't resist.
Pup wasn't quite as thrilled with the whole things as I was.
She'd much rather be exploring things with The Mister.
She found this horseshoe crab on the way home. It looked like it was just walking along the path but the poor thing was actually dead as a door nail. It reminded me of the time Daughter put a recently deceased one in a bag and took it to school for show and tell. Needless to say her teacher was not amused.
How nice to be so close to the water. I can imagine how quiet it is at this time of year. Thank you for the beautiful photos. I shared them with Dennis as we both love the ocean.

Oh, what a perfect way to spend a day! I missed my day at the lake when in NY with my dad in the hospital but this brings it to mind.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Tourist areas seem to exhale and relax when tourists leave for the season. It's the same in Wyoming - the roads no longer have lines of slow camper/motor home traffic.
ReplyDeleteI used to find those crabs all the time when I went beach walking. Made me sad they died. Your day looked beautiful, glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteThat certainly is a spectacular view! We are having wonderfully cooler days and low humidity and it is just awesome. I love having to wear a sweatshirt when I walk in the morning. If only it would last . . .
ReplyDeleteLOL, your horseshoe crab reminds me of the time my kids went to stay with their grandparents in Florida. A few days after they'd gotten home I was unpacking their bags & tossing everything into the washer... and found a horseshoe crab in my son's suitcase.
ReplyDeleteAwww, So glad you got some quiet ocean time. Wow. Lovely view as Shirley said.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place to explore! The horseshoe crab is cool!
