While The Mister was glued to the TV watching football I got some more sewing done. The jellyroll table runner is done. Here it is folded and ready to get in line for machine quilting.
I only have this much of the jellyroll left for the binding. I'm going to have to get creative.
While I had the batting out I made some little sandwiches out of some orphan charm squares for testing out my tension on the Juki. After my last disaster I can't be too careful.
Then I gave this big thing a go. I got two of the middle blocks done before I had to call it quits. It was like wrestling a multi-colored polar bear.

The jellyroll runner looks great, but the last photo has my heart. Oh how I love it, polar bear or not.

Yes, you feel it in your shoulders pretty quickly! Try rolling the edges of the quilt and clipping them in place so there isn't so much weight pulling on it. Worked for me.
ReplyDeleteYour Fall runner is so colorful and pretty. And oh my! That big quilt - just LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteThat runner is going to be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the dresden all quilted!
Love the fall runner - looking forward to see the creativity of the finished product!
ReplyDeleteI admire those who wrangle large quilts on their sewing machine and do free motion quilting. It's not something I would enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics in your fall table runner are just beautiful. If you got two of the middle dresden blocks quilted, I think that is a big accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteWow! They are both gorgeous! Can't wait to see them quilted.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful polar bear and you should know I'm having Juki envy. ;-)
