First let me congratulate myself on finishing 50 shower invitations and then I'll get to the cookie part. It doesn't look like 50 are in the box but I counted them and there are 50. Yay me. You'd think I'd be done with making cards for a while but I worked on two more designs today-but that's a story for another day. Anything to keep the sound of the chainsaws at bay. It's day two of this terrible adventure and it doesn't feel any better. In fact, it feels worse.
Now for the cookies. If you know the book then you know it's all about one thing leading to another. Every time I had to deal with Connecting Threads over the botched baby quilt I saw something else I wanted. This set of fall colored batik fat quarters had to be mine. Had to.
Then it was this mini quilt kit. It is 12 inches square which is what I am always looking for to fit my little stand. Look at all those points. This will be quite the challenge.
Then.....I know, I know. I don't need another quilt. I have tons of quilt kits in the stash but I have loved this one since I first saw it. Cindy at Delighted Hands is working on it right now and it is so beautiful. And the best thing....IT WAS ON CLEARANCE!!! It still wasn't cheap but it's mine. All mine. I may never make it but I am happy it's in my stash. Crazy? You bet-but's that how I work. More ambition than sense.

Ahhh! The cards are done. Hurray! Love all of your new fabric and kits. And who am I to say anything? I bought a new 60” circular knitting needle yesterday and two skeins of yarn today. I NEEDED them. :-)

ALL that is in 12 inches? Wow!
ReplyDeleteIt's best to have quilt kits in the stash!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you have finished those cards!
Bravo for finishing the invitations. Hard to imagine a baby shower with 50 guests - yikes! I love the kits you purchased and I know you'll do great with the mini.
ReplyDeleteFirst, let me thank you for the wonderful package I received yesterday. I think you mentioned not posting about the packages since they were going out at different times. If you don't want to post this comment, that is fine but I had to thank you. Oh, what a wonderful surprise package. There was so much goodness in that envelope. I had no idea I would get lotion bars, lip balm and a sample soap. I was just thrilled that I would get the witches brew soap and card. I love the soap and the trick or treat card is so cute. You are so talented and so generous. Again, thank you! I love everything that has ended up in your craft room as a result of the Connecting Threads website visits. Completely understand why the batiks were necessary and both quilt kits will be great to have in the depths of winter when color is needed. Hope your tree removal project is completed without any problems.
ReplyDeleteWell done on the invitations!!! I love the one in the bottom right! I would love an invitation to that picnic!
ReplyDeleteWhen I read the words, "If you give a mouse a cookie..." my whole heart sort of winced with Mom nostalgia, though I remember reading it to many small children in my life. I have to admit, I always enjoyed reading outloud to them. Maybe that is narcissistic.
I love the batik and I think the kits looks really pretty. I see why you wanted them and Clearance for one means everything was a discount, right? Enjoy!!
I'm laughing because every other day I've been getting a package from Craftsy full of fabric...
ReplyDeleteWith everything that's been happening lately you absolutely needed that fabric and quilt kit!! Don't even give it a second thought - sometimes the smallest thing can make me feel like my life is changing too much too quickly! Those trees have meaning to you - I hope things are doing well tonight!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you did 50 invites -- and they are so details. Your work is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI've barely mastered quilting and I'm worried about a second stash. Those batiks are gorgeous.
Awesome work on those adorable cards! Isn't amazing the rate at which a stash can grow; it's just like magic, right?
