Long Term

I'm out of short term knitting projects and it is making me twitch. I have no socks on the needles and it doesn't feel right. I am resisting casting any on though because I have several things that need attention. Aubade is still in the works. I am at 500 plus stitches so it's not a fun knit anymore even though it's pretty simple stuff going on.

Then there is The Seasons of Mist and Mellow Fruitfulness wrap. I promised myself I would put 4 rows on a day until November 30th and then it could go in time out until next fall. I've been working on it every autumn since 2008. It may well be the oldest WIP on Ravelry.

I've added this much to it this year but I don't want to put it away just yet. I just found out that there will be no Advent Scarf KAL this year (boo, hoo) so finishing this thing is what I'm doing instead.

In case you (elns) didn't see my reply about healthy fruitcakes yesterday, here is the link for a recipe that I have been meaning to try for years. It's Alton Brown's Free Range Fruitcake and I haven't tasted it but I know it's got to be major yummy. I've got the dried fruit and the booze so this may be the year I just might give it a go.

  1. These are beautiful projects, sorry they are taking so long! Yeah, I haven't knit on a sock for ages and I have withdrawals. Once I slog through my taking forever knits, I am going to knit socks!!!!

  2. I hate it when you feel betwixt and between about knitting!

I might check out that recipe ... I think it was the word "booze" that did it ... ;-)

  3. You're going to have some gorgeous knits when those are all done! Those long rows are what's kept me from making a circular shawl... but I so want one!

  4. We are so very much alike. I too get ridiculously twitchy when I'm between projects or don't have a easy go to like socks. I think the TRAP bug is going to bite me again soon. For this week: Dishcloths and only dishcloths

  5. 500 lace stitches per row can wear down your enthusiasm. Both project yarns are lovely colors. I'm disappointed that there will be no advent scarf and maybe a bit relieved too since I'm behind on Chritmas knitting.

  6. I can't wait to see Aubade all blocked out. That yellow is just oh so pretty.

  7. 500 stitches per row is scary! I finally finished my first and only Advent scarf last year, but really didn't finish it because it was getting way too long by day 17! I have some pretty old quilting projects that would give you a run for your money.....
