Hot Stuff

Well, now....did I have a weekend to remember. Just when we were going full throttle on the foyer floor tiling project disaster struck-again. Friday night we noticed condensation inside the windows and noticed that the furnace was running nonstop but it wasn't getting much cooler. On Saturday we waited all day in the heat for the AC guy to show up and replace this thingy. He was in and out in 15 minutes but that 24 hour wait was pretty darn miserable. I was all set to head out to Home Depot to buy a small window unit when he came down the driveway to the rescue.

All that heat and humidity gave me an awful migraine so the only thing we got done on the floor all weekend was to cover it with cardboard so the cats don't walk the dusty mortar residue all over the house. That's the tile-to-be I am standing on. It looks a lot like the laminate we put upstairs.

In the homage to my soon to be departed door I didn't have a photo of the summer wreath that's on it now so I took one.

In case you are wondering how I manage all those different wreath changes here is how I do it. I've got a gift bag for every season and holiday lined up in a unused bedroom closet and they are stuffed with all the doo dads.  I used to love going to craft stores and picking up odds and ends to add to my collection but like everything else around here...I have too much and way too many.

  1. Holy cow! This was NOT the time to be without air conditioning. I'm glad you were able to get it fixed quickly.

  2. Sorry about the AC issues, but glad you got them fixed. Our temps have been pretty bearable this weekend and this morning feels downright chilly to me!!

  3. It is so hot everywhere so I bet those 24 hours were miserable. Stay cool!

  4. Heat and humidity do me in: I would have been in a puddle. Very few houses here have AC, but then it’s rarely needed. Temperatures have been nearing 90° but less than 20% humidity.

I did the same thing with my door wreaths at my house. The do dads didn’t make the move 4 years ago.
