A Valentine Victory (Maybe)

It was a good thing I cleaned out my downstairs craft room last week because that's where Pup and I were holed up for hours yesterday morning. The stove guy showed up at 8 am. Ugh.

He played upstairs with it for about 45 minutes and then gave up. Afterwards it took us 3 hours with all the windows and doors open and the fans running full blast in 20 degree weather to air out the smell. It wasn't fun but Pup and I were warm enough in the sunny downstairs while I played with some stencils and some watercolors to keep my mind off of what was going on above me.

Ages ago I started making these little doodles. They don't look like much but they are a fun way to kill some time.

I also stated a new mandala. You can't get a more meditative project than this.

I got this far filling it in before The Mister came down and declared a victory-of sorts. Now the ball is in Lowe's court-again. The technician gave us a file number and told us to go to Lowes today and make an exchange. They should make arrangements to pick up the smelly stove and bring us out a new one. We hope. I'm not doing a victory dance until Mr. Smelly is on a truck and outta here.

Valentine's Day wasn't a complete bust. This little beauty arrived via Amazon. It was my gift to myself. I saw one on someone's blog (Dee?) and had to have one. I used to have one but I have no idea what I did with it.

In case you are wondering, it is a tea for one set. It has a fine screen infuser in the pot and a nice wide cup that lets the tea cool off quickly. I'm an impatient tea drinker and have been known to burn my mouth on a fairly regular basis so that big cup is just what the doctor ordered. I love it.

  2. When I saw the tea set on Dee’s blog, I was tempted to order one, too. The one you have is a beauty (I love blue!) I hope the exchange will solve your oven problem.

  3. I'm glad I inspired you to a beautiful new tea set. It's a beauty.

Good luck with the oven. Maybe you are on your way to being able to bake again. Fingers crossed for you.

  4. I am in love with your teapot. The cup is gorgeous, too, but I am a slow drinker, so my tea would cool too slowly in that type of cup. Which is too bad. I'll love to have one!

  6. Love the doodles and the mandala. Mandalas are so meditative! Very happy to hear you'll be getting a new stove. You've been beyond patient with that smelly one.

  7. Oh, I hope that new stove is on it's way to you very, very soon.
That mandala is amazingly detailed. I do NOT have the patience to even color in a premade one, let alone design it! The watercolors are very pretty in a delicate way. I love how the colors are on the pictures.
And finally, the teapot. I had one like it before our move from the house. I don't know what happened to it. Maybe it was given away. I don't know. We got rid of so much but I do still have a tiny bit of the loose tea I bought in Annapolis at the tea shop there. It's chocolate flavorite. Enjoy your tea my friend.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
