First Socks

It was chilly enough last night to have to dig out some socks for my cold feet.

I have this ritual every year. My feet get cold and then I go look through the sock bins and decide it's not chilly enough yet for wool. I get out the same pair of cotton socks-my one and only handknit pair.

Good look, huh? Sun dress with flannel sheepy pj pants with cotton socks and crocs. I don't do season changes well.  I never know what to put on. I feel very out of sorts when I don't have a seasonal uniform to just throw on without thinking about it.

What I need to do is knit more cotton socks. I have a few balls in my stash and I always turn my nose up at them never remembering they are my "bridge" socks.  I should cast them on now while I am thinking about them but that would be pair number five on the needles and that's a lot-even for me.

  1. I don't have any cotton socks but they sound really comfortable. It's still too warm here to even think about socks though.

  4. Go for it! You won't be sorry!

I have no cotton socks. Cotton sock yarn doesn't seem to be very popular here in Florida. Go figure!

  5. I get it! I started yesterday in a turtleneck cotton shirt and a tshirt over that for the fun RIDE volunteer station IN Lake Geneva. By after noon I was hot and took the turtleneck off. By bedtime, I needed 3 blankets. As for you and your cotton sock transition, I love it . As for the look, You think I"D JUDGE you? not on your knit life

  6. Loving your look. I sport a similar look most evening. As soon as kids are home from school I'm in "pyjama mode"!

  7. I'm quite fond of the pj and croc look myself and I need to get some cotton sock yarn. We don't usually need wool socks here very often.
