Bye Bye Winter

I know spring doesn't start until the 21st but looky here. My mini pansy's not only survived the winter, they are blooming.

Ditto for the crocus that are by the chimney. They are always a sign that spring is here for real. We may still get some frozen stuff but it's usually of the snow cone variety. Our chance for any real snow is zilch.

I am going to welcome spring by working on a mini quilt that will go with Daddio's St Paddy's Day table runner. I love Daddio's table runners.  I'm so glad I made him make me a bunch of them.

As for my February mini quilt, it's still NOT quilted. I didn't have any pink thread. Can you imagine that? I'm going to go pick some up this weekend.

I did start free motion quilting Daddio's wedding ring lap quilt. It's nothing to brag about but I am feeling comfortable enough with the machine now to do more than just stippling and loop de loops. My nightly date with Angela Walters is paying off.

  3. Oh that crocus! I love the color. Anything purplish always makes my heart go pitter patter. Gorgeous job on the quilts. On the weather front, we’re under a snow advisory. Big surprise there isn’t it?

  7. Sooooo jealous of your flowers. I bought myself some tulips at the grocery store to bring a little spring to the house.

And... if there's one thing I've learned about quilting, it's the little mistakes tend to disappear in the finished project.

  9. oh pansies! So far we have seen one robin and the willow tree branches are becoming bright yellow. Thats all we got. Fireman and I are headed out to take a tree down that's strangling the pear tree out there. It is cold but sunny. Wish us luck
