June!

My June kit is here!

You already know what's in it from watching the videos so it wasn't a surprise. The surprise was that they didn't go with something more June-y. Father's Day? Graduation? Weddings? Instead we got more flowers and fancy paper with inspirational bible quotes. Odd-unless you have a bereavement you need to acknowledge I suppose. I don't know if I'd send someone a handmade sympathy card. I wouldn't want the recipient to think I was having fun with their grief. Is that weird or is it just me who thinks that?

I didn't really care about this month's kit being a bit strange but a lot of commenters took issue. I just went and padded my stash with some other things. I found a new online enabler. Good prices, fast delivery. Sold.

From Scrapbook Pal I got mice. Cute little Thanksgiving mice because they were on sale and I will eventually need them.

I also picked up these label stamps and dies to hopefully make all that soap wrapping I do even more fun.

Finally, I found a solution for all those fancy markers I've been collecting. That's an ice bin. $2.99 at the grocery store. It's keeps them horizontal and keeps them from rolling around all over the place. There's even room for more-if I ever find them on sale again.

  2. If I were bereaved, I'd feel honored that someone took the time to make a card that is personal to me, not just any old Hallmark that anyone could find in the local CVS. Handmade is always better.

  3. Look at all those goodies. I love paper crafting supplies and all the possibilities. Great idea for marker storage. I keep mine in round tea tins stacked so the markers lay flat.

  7. Okay I always forget the best storage for markers is on the side. Dang it! You're a smart and crafty lady. I'm not sure how I feel about June's bereavement when yes there are other options. Maybe that could've been August when there isn't a specific holiday associated with it. dunno. just thinking outloud.

  8. The kit does seem like it's more for April than June, but I do love the doodle-like flowers. You always find a good use for your kits.
