Tiny Needle Tuesday: In the Dark

A few weeks ago I thought I was going blind. I couldn't even see to vacuum so forget about stitching. It turned out that the leaves had filled in when I wasn't paying attention and once again the house is in the shade. I had to move my stitching to the front window in order to see.  I got a bit done on that row of lawn I am working on. It looks like another little sheep will be joining the flock soon.

I also rounded another corner on the Village Quaker. Stitching with that dark thread on that white background has been a joy. That I can see.

The downstairs is even darker than the upstairs where at least we have some skylights. That makes working on that fiddly rope up in the corner slow going but I don't have the room to move it upstairs.

The only thing happening in the dark little sewing room is the winding of floss bobbins. I am on my third box now. I keep filling them up and Amazon keeps bringing me more. If I pull out one more bag of this stuff from anywhere I am going to scream.

  1. Even so, you make incredible progress on these cross stitched patterns! I love to see the little sheep emerge! lol You need a good LED light to stitch by!

  4. I have three boxes of floss bobbins and love the organization. That's if I remember to put the floss back after a project.
All of that green on the lawn would drive me batty. Kudo's to you for persevering. :-)
And the Village Quaker is so beautiful in it's simplicity.
I hope you have a great day Debbie. I have to pack sometime today.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  7. Winding floss bobbins seems to take forever. I have three cases of wound bobbins and a small one for projects. I really should start a stitch project but it’s been over a decade since I’ve done any stitching.

  8. That's a lot of stitching. I know that I need good light for any kind of embroidery -- but cross-stitching especially. As I get older, the light is more important!
