Low Tide

Two days of sunshine in a row? Unheard of around here lately but we'll take it. It felt good to get out of the house for a while.

The sun was shining but our timing was off. The tide was out at the wetlands park.

You could smell it as soon as we got out of the car.

When the tide is in it looks like this. When it's out it's a mucky, muddy mess that smells like a swamp. We didn't stay too long. but it was still nice to get outside for a bit.

Even better.... look what was waiting for me when I got home. I had just raked off the leaves going up the driveway the other day and I was rewarded with all these happy smiling faces. I just love the first blooms of spring, don't you?

  1. So pretty! What a happy sight to greet you when you came home. We've had some gorgeous warm days this week. I even had the RV door open all afternoon. It was wonderful to have some fresh air.
    Take care my friend.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  2. Awwww, cute little crocus. I haven't seen any here yet.

I'm sure the snowdrops are probably up, but the trail where they are is so muddy we would sink up to our ankles. LOL My daffodils are still just a little inch or so of green popping up.

  3. Oh! Those flowers have made my morning! As I write we're waiting for the repairman to come to fix the pilot light on our heater. It keeps going out. So I haven't even opened my laptop or tried to do any crafts because even with space heaters I am cold, headachy and just plain miserable. So thanks for the flowers and roll on Spring!!

  4. Look at those beautiful blooms! It’s been gorgeous here the last few days. I turned off the heat and opened the patio doors to get some fresh air into the apartment. Today it’s gloomy but tomorrow is supposed to be nice again.

  6. Absolutely yes yes yes. Wow those flowers look amazing. I don't understand the tides and how they work with the moon and all that; thank you for explaining and showing us the difference. I think of THE FIVE CHINESE BROTHERS when I first learned about tides. No tides in the great lakes! My world was very small!

  7. How beautiful to see the low tide-even if it smelled a bit strong! And Crocus--Spring is just around the corner! Yippee!
