Making Merry Part One

We had a small but festive gathering on Christmas Eve with the Grands. They didn't disappoint. They were adorable and hilarious. I couldn't get enough of them.

Dear DIL made her signature sangria in her enormous new kitchen. The family had moved a few weeks ago and were hosting their first holiday in their posh (very posh) new digs.

I owe #1 Son an apology for dissing last year's Christmas mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving. These were perfect. I had two helpings.

Mmmm....I don't eat meat but this looks yummy.

Dessert was a strawberry shortcake that was delish....

...with a side of some amazing artisan ice cream. We had fresh banana and crushed peppermint. Mmmm...

Though we were missing several family members we had a blast. Three dogs, two kids and a handful of silly grownups equals a very good time.

  1. I'm glad you had a great day. It sounds perfect. Hubby and I spent a quiet day at home after church. It was nice, but quiet. Very quiet. Did I say quiet? :1)

  2. I'm so glad you had a wonderful visit! The food and family time can mean so much to you!

  3. Love the photo of your Grands by the tree. The little ones are so fun this time of year and the food looks amazing.

  4. Looks like a wonderful time. I think I would have buried myself in that sweet pup's fur!!!

    He looks so snuggly!

  5. Sounds perfect! I'm glad you were able to have a good Christmas Day, since I know you had a rough time leading up to it.

  6. It sounds wonderful, so glad you had a great day.

  7. Oh I am so happy you enjoyed your Christmas !!!! I was worried for you. It looks like ablast. Today Im a sobbing mess. Al left for Oklahoma. Zach leaves tomorrow. Mama bird wants her babies nearer her these days. I'll be Ok. Santa sent me yarn...but my heart is heavy

  8. I'm very jealous! I didn't get any of that kind of fun this year. Maybe next!
