Tiny Needle Tuesday

I don't have much of anything to show for this week because this is the table where I do my stitching and as you see it's in use for something very different.

I had been making soap out in the kitchen when The Mister wasn't around but I've got the soap making bug again and didn't want to wait until he went somewhere. I am happy to report that this time I DID remember to add the fragrance before I poured the batter into the molds.

Ta da......two loaves of Oatmeal, Milk and Honey. It's another big batch as I want to get those soap drying shelves filled asap and honestly, I am tired of experimenting with new fragrances which are not only expensive but can be very tricky. When I grab a bar I want something I like and there is only a few fragrances that I really like so I am just sticking with them from now on.

It wasn't a totally stitch-less week. I started this for my mom about 30 years ago and never finished it. I pulled it out after Dad died thinking I would make it sort of a wedding sampler/memorial for them. It's been gathering dust in the downstairs craft room ever since because those sails gave me fits. Over the weekend when I felt like stitching but couldn't get to my usual projects, I went downstairs and ripped out the old sails and started improvising my own instead. I might also make a few other changes along the way to simplify it and speed things up. This is either going to be a train wreck or a revelation-we shall see.

  1. I remember you showing that sampler previously - it is so pretty and will really be a nice tribute to your parents. I hope it's a revelation!!

  2. The stitching looks great. Those sails look tricky as it would be hard to see the stitches against the color of the cloth. Well done on figuring that out!

  3. I'd say that both projects are a win-win! Beautiful soap and fantastic stitching!!!

  4. Such pretty soap. You have many wonderful interests and talents.

  5. I was just going to say "I love the sail" when you said you did them your own way. Bravo! The soap looks beautiful too. I was going to ask the same thing Gemma did. Which are your favorite scents?
I sent an email to you soap email. You, my friend, are generous beyound belief.
    Blessings and love,

  6. I'm betting on revelation!

    The soap looks so pretty!

  7. I think that stitching is going to be fabulous!
