Playing Hooky

The downstairs craft room was a disaster after all that Christmas card making but I finally got around to cleaning it up.

Since I have no reason to be making cards and I have no soap to wrap I decided to use the space for my winter rug project.

Unlike many of my other hooking projects this one has all the material I need to finish it so I set up a little wool cutting area.

All I have left is the background on this one to do and it's pretty boring so I bet I run out of interest way before I run out of winter. We'll see.

  1. I would love to watch you work on that project since I've never seen it done before. It looks like a tool like a crochet hook is used?
I got my new glasses (finally), today so I worked a few rows on the Sheep Virtues. I had so many Christmas projects and Dennis's sweater to finish first. Then I pulled it out on Sunday and couldn't see the squares. :-( I've been waiting for my glasses for over a month. They kept sending them to the wrong locations, twice. They finally made it to Spokane this morning and I was called to pick them up. They actually came out the the car to fit them. No one goes inside unless it's for an actual eye exam. What a strange, strange world we're living in. But now I can see cross-stitch again. Yippee!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. I love the expression on that snowman! Too cute! Backgrounds are difficult to keep interest in but just work as you feel - that's my new thought. If I'm not enjoying a project I do like you and put it away for a while!

  7. He is SO cute.

That is the kind of project that is good for listening to an audio book or some music. Just zen out and hook away.

  8. Cute snowman - I’m confident that you’ll be able to finish before the end of winter since you have a place to work on it.
