The Last Soap Tale

Sadly this is the last of the soap tales for a while. The shelves are full. I am very happy to report, however that the last batch of Plain Ole Goat was a success. I kept everything at room temperature and remembered to mix the milk powder with the warm oils and not to use the heated incubator.

One afternoon The Mister was bored so I let him make two batches using the last of my summer scents. I was all soaped out so it was good to just sit back and give directions while he did all the work. I let him pick the colors he thought went with the scents.

He did a good job. He's not much of a cook but he didn't seem to have any trouble mixing up a decent batter.

 He could plop.....

....and sprinkle with the best of them.

Not bad, huh? I was a little skeptical at first of his color choices.

He wanted to go big and bold but I think it all worked pretty well. I am very happy to say my summer soaps are all a wrap. Now I'm cleaning up that side of the room so I can finally get my sewing things out again.

  6. So you got to put your teacher's hat back on for an afternoon. His soap looks wonderful. The blue/yellow combination instantly makes me think of the beach.

  11. The Mister did an excellent job! I love the blue & yellow, although I'll admit to being skeptical at the plop stage. The finished soap is so beachy - I just love it!
