Normally when my Echo glows green and tells me that I have a notification I am thrilled. Something's on the way.
The sound of the UPS truck backing down the driveway used to get me even more excited. I love getting packages. Not anymore.
Wednesday in the pouring down rain this is what showed up. I should mention that I had an equally large pile delivered the day before and the mail carrier had brought me another huge box just that very same morning.
Dealing with packages is no easy task. I know I'm probably being too cautious but everything is unboxed and repackaged outside. My kitchen area is a sea of drying gloves, baskets and pans that we use to carry the things in.
Notice the booze. It finally got here. Yippee. There will be gin and tonics again. I really need one.
See that big black trash bag? It's full of chips and other snacky stuff that comes in bags. Since it was raining I just tossed it all in and tied it shut. I'll have to deal with that another day. I have no idea why I thought we needed so many chips.
There is also a trash bag of puzzles that showed up but they will also have to wait for dry weather. I did unpack the desperately needed toilet paper. It's nice. I thought it might be cheap stuff but it's good quality and those rolls are HUGE. I've got to go hide it though. I caught one of the cats already trying to shred it. Could you imagine?
I think I am finally over my ordering thing. Two people really don't need this much stuff.

Where did you order food from that it came in boxes? I finally stopped washing everything. If it doesn't have to go into the freezer or refrigerator I just put it all on a table in the garage and let it sit for at least 72 hours before putting it away. Refrigerator and freezer food get wiped down and put away. I'm so tired of how hard it is just to take care of groceries.
ReplyDeleteGood for you on being so stocked up. I went to Costco today for the first time since this all began. I had to get a prescription for Chloe or you would never have caught me near the place. I was terrified the entire time. We're all going to have issues when this is over. I figured as long as I was there I would get toilet paper, paper towels, clorox wipes and laundry detergent. They were out of everything except laundry detergent. Still not tp or paper towels. This is insane.
Have a good Friday my friend.
Blessings,
Betsy
Amazon Pantry. I am addicted to it. I need to STOP.
DeleteI'm glad your shelves are stocked again-no worries now. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a ton of stuff. Glad the booze arrived 0- lol. Those TP rolls look like the ones we have in the rest rooms at work!
ReplyDeleteWell on the bright side, you're stocked for a while and you won't need to decontaminate so often!
ReplyDeleteI am lucky that my oldest son lives with me and he goes to the store with my grocery list. We do not sanitize all of the packages that come to the house. Several doctors have made videos saying it is not necessary to do it. The virus cannot live so long on each individual item. I understand that each person has their own comfortable routine, tho, to make themselves safe. Thanks for blogging!
ReplyDeleteWe sanitize everything also. It can't hurt so we do it. That was some haul and I know it makes for a busy day! :) You should be set for awhile!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I cannot imagine "processing" that many boxes. Though once you have that done, you should be set for a while. My doorknobs, light switches, etc. have never been wiped down so frequently.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you’re in good shape for the long haul, and I’m confident that we’re in for a long haul. I’m skittish about going out in public, but next week I’m finally having a permanent crown set on a molar. I’ve been babying the temporary since March.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're set for awhile! Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI had to run to Target today and for the first time I saw toilet paper and paper towels on the shelves and no one frantically walking away with a bunch of them in their cart. But I hear meat is gone form all the shelves in the grocery store.
