Tiny Needle Tuesday: Desperate Measures

I couldn't take it anymore. I stitched around that corner without a frame over the weekend and it made me nuts. I know some of you do that but I can't. I need a frame to hang on to.

That seam and the difference in material sets off all my obsessive/compulsive alarms but at least it fits into my Q snap again. I'll just have to deal until I get that side done.

I also finished one edge border of the rings quilts. It's just simple lines and echoing but I think it works.

I've got one more snowflake block to add to the pile. I have only three more to go. If you are wondering how I got so much finished yesterday it's because it's raining AGAIN. It's supposed to rain until Friday. Ugh.

So why aren't we putting down the new tile in the foyer in our downtime? Well......after we talked to Lowes it seems it would be better to have the new door installed first. We won't know how to cut the tile around the new door frame until after it's installed. Now we have to wait for the installers to come measure and then we have to wait for an appointment to get it done. It's always something.

  1. With remodeling it always seems to be a hurry up and wait proposition and all you want to do is get it done.
I tried doing my cross-stitch on my frame and it drove me nuts. I took it off and took care of the edges so I can stitch it with no hoop or frame. Isn't it funny how different people have different preferences. I just started the wisdom block yesterday but spent several hours on it. I'm loving stitiching again.

  2. It's for the best, but I hate a stall when I am all gung-ho!!! Great idea to extend the fabric so it will be stabilized in the frame!

  3. Rain. Yes. Pretty tired of it here as well. Good idea to stitch around that - hopefully, it will resolve the annoyance to some degree. Love the quilt progress - just truly lovely!

  4. The remodeling for anyone just seems to go on and on and on, doesn't it? And this grey, rainy weather doesn't help! Your stitching is so pretty.

  5. Yes, rain here for four days and then some colder temperatures for a few days. Then I guess it will be more rain. Love your snowflake block and all the stitching you are doing.

  6. Oddly, rain rather than snow gives me “cabin fever.” I need a frame/hoop to hang on to when cross-stitching, too. Sewing the extension on to the piece is a good solution.

  8. Im like Nancy. too much rain makes me sad...unless it is summer and they are thunderstorms. Then I LOVE them. I'd rather deal with snow right now. Your stitching is lovely.
