Pressed Petals

I did get a lot of sewing done yesterday but what I really wanted to do was spin. I've had the fiber bug for a while now but I didn't have a place to set up a wheel. Now I do. The living room is still a mess with all the kitchen boxes but I've got a bit of floor in front of the TV cleared and...I had the Puppy Bowl to watch.

I found this beauty in the stash.

I brought it home from the SVFF last fall. I had forgotten all about it.

It's Polwarth/Silk. It's the Pressed Petal colorway and it's gorgeous.

I haven't spun in ages so I didn't get off to the best start. I was thinking that maybe I shouldn't have jumped back in with something so pretty but it's all in motion now. It'll be what it'll be.

  1. Oh. My. Goodness. I love that fiber. Those colors are amazing. I can't wait to see what it turns out to be. I thought it would just be a matter of time before a wheel made an appearance. :-)

  3. The silk might make it a bit of a tricky spin until you get the feel of it! What a beautifully colored roving! Enjoy!

  4. That looks like a cozy little corner that you have set up. Beautiful fiber and I know there will be some awesome projects with it in the future. It is 70 degrees here today and so wonderful outside.
