How Much Wood Could a Woodchuck Chuck?

On Wednesday we cut and stacked the woodpile in the front of the house. It's really our neighbor's tree we had cut down and it's really our neighbors woodpile but I got tired of looking at it so we neatened it up. I got to use the chain saw again. I did the small logs while The Mister tackled the big ones.

The whole time I've been working with the wood I've been complaining about not having any way to burn any of it. The Mister has his wood stove in the man cave. I've got nothing. Until now.

The Mister went down to the hardware store for light bulbs and came back with a fire pit.

Nice, huh? Don't worry. I'm not going to use it on the deck. I know better than that. It's just where I put it together.

Yesterday and today it's back to work on the big stuff in the back. It's a lot more fun now that I will have a place to sit and enjoy the fruits of all this labor.

  1. I love it! Good for the Mister! There is nothing like a real fire in a fire pit AND a big plus, mosquitoes hate woodsmoke. So you can be outside during mosquito season. Just light a fire!

  2. That's a pretty one. The design on the side reminds me of the incense burner I used to have in the 70s.

    Enjoy!

  4. It's always good to have a "carrot" when facing a large task. You'll enjoy it even more because of all the hard work.

  5. What an awesome woodpile! You will love your fire pit. I was so excited to receive one as a Christmas gift 2 years ago but sadly our POA has outlawed them. Honestly, I feel like a fire pit in my wide open yard would be a lot safer than our charcoal grill on the deck, next to the house, under the trees but....

  6. Sounds like you are enjoying using the chain saw! You are such a good neighbor to cut and stack the wood for him. Hope you get to use your fire pit soon.
