It's a grime guard. I didn't make it. I bought it. You can get a peek at my new little sheep standing on her flower mountain in the middle of it.
I didn't buy it for grime as much as I bought it for tucking in the excess. The Sheep Virtues is big and it's always getting in the way when I put it on my floor stand.
I paid $15 for it from a vendor on Etsy. I know, I know, I could have made my own. I have even watched tutorials and bought the elastic and material to make one but.....I'm just lazy. I may try one down the road but right now I just want to stitch and play with my quilts.
Speaking of stitching, I'm still making steady progress on the other sampler. I hope to have that roof and that left border done by next Tuesday. For something that I've been working on for 10 years, I'm impressed that I've gotten this far.
A grime guard! That’s a great idea. Both projects look great.

Love the border on the sampler. 10 years.... I really hope to finish my haeds in 15, although two of them already more than 2 years old. Liana
ReplyDeleteBoth of those projects are wonderful. The grime protector is neat! I don't use a hoop or frame when I stitch - I just stitch in hand and roll the excess fabric up. So far that works for me.
ReplyDeleteClever idea-I like to buy one and then figure it out and make the next one. You have time.
ReplyDeleteGreat stitching!
Had to laugh... My first reaction was, "You've had a cross stitch going for 10 years???" And then I remembered the enormous family tree that I started stitching when the kids were infants... 20+ years ago... and it's still over there in the drawer, unfinished... Yikes! Love your grime guard and the newest sheep. The grime guard's fabric is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe guard is clever for tucking in fabric and keeping the edges clean.
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat little invention!
ReplyDeleteWell now you have a pattern! :)
