I was right in the middle of my happy dance for finishing these socks when........uh, oh. Why is one so much longer than the other?
#&@*!*$%#^@!!!!!!
After ripping the blankety blank sock out past the heel I started again.
My punishment for doing something so stupid is to only knit this sock until it's once again history.
At least I did finish the Mercury socks before all the stuff hit the fan. The only thing with these is that one is rather liberally speckled and the other really isn't. Sigh.
It's always something.

I am certain that you will have it all fixed in no time:) No one will notice the spots are more on one sock than the other in the last pair:)
ReplyDeleteOh no! I did that once. I have sworn never to do it again, but I know it’s only a matter of time. :-) I think the mercury socks look great. No one will notice the speckles except you. I have found that usually the case anyway.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Betsy
Beautiful socks!
ReplyDeleteOh that's frustrating! But the lacey ones are pretty!
ReplyDeleteThose are really pretty! I'm going to have a look at that pattern.
ReplyDeleteOh no! That sounds like something that would have happened at my house - except as long as the difference was in the leg, I'd have left it alone and just worn the socks with long pants. The pink socks are lovely. Isn't that weird how one is so much more speckled than the other. I would never have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out though.
ReplyDeleteBoth pairs of socks are beautiful! Once you complete the second sock again, they will be so nice to wear. I did not even notice more speckles one one Mercury sock than the other Mercury sock. They are delightful.
ReplyDeleteThose socks are glorious in pink. Speckle schmeckle....I love them Deb
ReplyDeleteSorry about the knitting setback! The speckled one is a non-issue; they look great!
ReplyDeleteWhat was that word again?
