Bye Bye Brickless

I usually stick with a project until the bitter end but I was not feeling Brickless. It wasn't the pattern. It was the yarn. That unplied cotton was horrible to work with and even worse the poor thing hung like a rag. Let's not even talk about the color. Ripped.

On a happier note the naughty Hermoine's are done.  I do believe they are the same size this time around.

The 2019 sock box looks like this now.

I should be doing a happy dance and digging though the stash for more sock yarn but I've got the equivalent of second sock syndrome and just am not feeling it. I did dig this out for some man socks just in case a man shows up who needs some socks. Other than that, at the moment I've got nothing.

  1. Sometimes you need to take a sock break! Considering you already have 4 pairs for 2019 - I'm not surprised!

  2. Brickless is a beautiful pattern. Maybe it just needs a brighter color yarn.

Congrats on the 4 pair of socks. You are ahead of the game!

  3. Unplied cotton - currently working on a crochet pattern using this which has been ripped after getting one quarter of the way through two different knitting patterns. I'm just deciding that it will be a droopy scarf - I love the colorway but will settle for the droops.

  4. The latest pair of socks are beautiful! Yes, you need to knit a few pairs of socks for men for your gift box. Your family and friends will certainly love the socks in your gift box.

  5. Great sock box! And it's only early March.
I can see how cotton would not be right for Brickless. It's a large shawl, and the cotton would just be too heavy.

  6. Nice work on all those socks! Brickless is on my list for sometime....lots of UFOs to tackle first. I start more than I finish, sadly.

  7. I have so many socks to wear but my Hermione socks feel great on my feet--it's not the yarn, it is the texture of the pattern! I love it!
Sorry about the rip out but it feels good to end a miserable knit! The socks look great!

  8. Your sock finish is wonderful! Cotton and I suffer so much that we have broken up...for good. Except for dishcloths

  9. Sometimes yarn just doesn’t speak to you. I like that pattern though and I have been looking at it myself. The Hermione socks look great! I have a pair in my bag right now that have been just sitting there for over a month. They’re also made with Knit Picks Felici yarn. I’m just not feeling them right now. Too many other projects. Blessings, Betsy

  10. Unplied cotton - yuck! Can't blame you for frogging that one, although I don't mind the color. Glad you were able to talk your socks into behaving. They look great!
