Another One Bites the Dust

Another of Daddio's quilts is a done deal. This is actually a Daddio hybrid. I bought the material and had him make me the Dresdens with it. His usual quilts were made from material he would pick out from our trips to Joann's. This was a collection from Connecting Threads.

Speaking of Connecting Thread collections, my snowflake quilt is back in production.

We took a trip to the thrift shop last week and got rid of all the remaining stuff from the bedroom that was cluttering up my work area. It's nice to have my cutting table back again.

I've got two blocks done which really means I have eight blocks done since each giant block is made up of four small ones. I love this pattern. It looks so complicated but it's so easy. I usually pack seasonal projects away when the season ends but this one may just get a pass. I want to see it finished.

  3. Both of these are wonderful. The Dresden is so Spring-like and the snowflake one is very interesting - it does look complicated. Have fun!!

  6. That dresden quilt is absolutely beautiful. What a nice memory for you of working on it with your dad. The snowflake quilt is stunning. You may say it looks easy but it looks terribly complicated to me. Many blessings, Betsy

  7. Your/Daddio's dresden quilt is just beautiful! I love the sashing and borders. Love the blocks for your snowflake quilt. I have never made that pattern and it really does look complicated. That might become my next project since you state it is not as complicated as it looks. Looking forward to seeing it progress.

  9. Love Dresden blocks and that quilt is really a special one. Your new project is nice, too; that looks like a very large block and very pretty at that.

  10. Daddio's quilt is wonderful. You did a great job. I have one my grandmother made me in that style and frankly in that gold/yellow color. I'll get it out and take a photo of it someday so you can see it.
