Those bins were stored in the downstairs craft room that I use now mostly for cards and artsy stuff. That whole room was a disaster so I spent the day putting everything back where it was supposed to go.
In one of those bins I found this rather haughty Llama. I'm not sure where he came from but I guess he's mine now.
I had piles of card kits that need consolidating. Now I've got them sorted by month.
I also needed to make sense of my die bin. All those little metal pieces are hard to keep track of.
Ditto for the stamp sets. I can't tell you how many important stamps have come up missing. I really need to organize them better. This mess is a disaster waiting to happen.
I have been doing artsy stuff at night. This is the art journal. It's a collage.
I made it from prints I pulled off the Gelli plates and some die cuts.
The embossed paper I used to make the prints are almost too pretty to toss. I need to come up with something to do with them.
I did have a little more fun with the alcohol inks but the fumes give me a sore throat. They will have to wait until I can take them outside from now on.
Another crazy brainless activity I've been doing at night is filling up a watercolor sketch book with what I call "fabric flowers". I've been using the quilting stash to come up with patterns to paint. It's like making my own adult coloring book. It's very zen.
Speaking of zen, how about more swatching and doodle flowers? It's a good way to kill a long, dark night without much effort.
And to think I lost an entire day in this room because I just needed to fill up the jar of bubble gum I keep on the desk. One thing just leads to another down there. It's a dangerous place.
I’m impressed by your organization. Very nice. I think it would be very easy to lose yourself for a day with all of the wonderful things you have in your craft room.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Betsy
So many card making treasures! Love the idea of fabric flowers, I may try this too. For me zen is cross stitching. Peretty brainless task (not HAEDs though).
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with all your organization too. You have so many creative outlets!
ReplyDeleteI finally felt well enough (from the dreaded cold and cough) to take some time to do a clear out of my craft room. Happy to report that I now have 2 large bags and a box ready for pick up donation and can actually see myself working in the room again! Although, at one point I looked around at the mess I made pulling everything out of storage and sorting through and thought, "WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?!"
ReplyDeleteHow nice to organize such a creative room! You could get lost in all the beautiful activities for weeks...
ReplyDeleteIf you ever have an abundance of acrylic leftovers again please let me know (needles54@optonline.net) I knit for charity and am always looking for small bits, I will gladly pay for shipping them to me, love reading about your organizing Blogless Grace
ReplyDeleteWhat a magical crafty world you live in!
ReplyDeleteI marvel at your range of interests and skills. You are an artist on many levels.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a lot of card making, stamping type stuff. I feel so much better about my own collection. :) Actually, I feel great about my stamping/scrapbooking supply collection these days. Last year, I came to grips with the fact that while I love buying the supplies, I do not enjoy using them. I gave 95% of them away and am proud to say, I have not missed them. Now if I could only stand to do that with my pen collection. I can not draw a recognizable stick figure, but I LOVE any kind of artsy, colored pen.
ReplyDeleteThe sorting and organizing looks great! I'm impressed and inspired!
ReplyDeleteBut what a wonderful result from a day spent cleaning out and organizing. With all those crafting supplies at hand, I could lost myself for hours and hours.
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of dies and stamps! What a fun workroom! :)
ReplyDeleteLots of sorting always makes you feel better. I agree with tossing the small bits of yarn that you can't use.
