Surprise, Surprise

Kitty got a big surprise this morning as did we.

Snow? No one told us we were getting any snow today. Maybe a flurry. It snowed all day.

Since I was stuck inside all day I thought it was an omen to get that thumb sorted out on the Snowfling mittens. Nope. I tried three times and gave up. It was just too dark to work with that maroon yarn.

Instead I pulled out something big.

I started it in 2009 and work on it here and there. I think it's time has come. Again.

  1. We’ve been pretty lucky this month winter and dodging a lot of the snow storms. Our luck is supposed to change next week and we’re supposed to get snow four out of five days during the week. Yuck. Sorry about the mittens but your big project looks absolutely stunning. Have fun and stay warm. Blessings, Betsy

  6. Gorgeous blanket with the added advantage of warmth if you need it! Flurries all day here as well but no accumulation which means I can get some errands crossed off my list!

  8. Dark colors are difficult for me in low light conditions, too. The blanket is gorgeous!

  9. That blanket is going to be beautiful! I have reached the point where I need good light to sew black fabrics so understand the issue with the mitten. Hope the sun returns soon.
