The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I'm still being a Grinch when it comes to holiday decor but I am enjoying the testing and wrapping of all the December soap.

Every night I get to play in my bathtub with all these lovely samples. I am not usually a fan of the winter fragrances but I have to say there is not a clinker in the bunch. I love them all.

The wrapping is also now done. I love to see the soap cabinet full. I made 81 bars without a failed batch in the bunch. Yay me. After the big baby shower fail, I was worried. Very worried.

If you signed up for the December Giveaway your package should be arriving in the near future. I packed them up and dropped them all off at the post office yesterday. You January folks should look for yours right after New Years. I'm still making the February soap and I have some real beauties to show off in another post soon.

Now that the cards that accompany the soap are all done I need to get this mess cleared up so The Mister and I can start on our own cards. I bought him his own kit this year and it's pretty cool. Now if I could only get him to sit down long enough to use it.

I do admit to being very blah about the holidays this year because I think there are feels there I just don't want to feel but I have pulled out my little Menorah. It only took me 4 days of Hanukkah to do it. This little guy was an important and cherished part of my classroom winter holiday celebration for years and it has burned every year in my home since I retired. Happy Hanukkah everyone. I've got latkes and applesauce for dinner.

  5. Look at all that lovely soap! It must be gratifying to see the bars lined up in your soap closet. Grief is a journey, and as difficult as it is, you've got to walk down the twisting path. You won't be alone on your journey - stretch out your hand.

  9. I have a phrase about you putting off your 'feelings' you don't want to face; I call it grief deferred. It still will overwhelm you so you need to allow yourself the whole gamut of loss. Sorry.
