A Tale of Two Warps

Remember me? I'm the warp that's been waiting on the pegs since January.

I'm supposed to be this someday and I am supposed to be EASY.

That's what you think. The problem is that someone didn't notice that I have over 400 ends and her loom can only hold around 360 comfortably. She also didn't notice that she didn't have enough heddles to handle all these ends and she couldn't find anymore like them anywhere online. Then lots of cussing and lots of math got involved. It took days to figure this out.

What she did was split the warp. She took the excess out of the middle. It's going to change the designers vision but at least all that yarn got saved. She put it on the loom in two pieces after removing the extra center threads. It was scary.

It seemed to work. So far. Now let's see if her math was right.
It's always something.

  4. My gracious, what an amazing idea to pull all those pieces into one beautiful creation! It's all I can do to keep hold of one or two pieces of yarn while I'm knitting! I can't wait to see how this progresses!
