Blank Pages

My kid can draw like this. I am so jealous. I really wish I could draw.

I operate on the theory if you buy enough art supplies eventually the muse will call. It hasn't yet.

I buy pans and pans of watercolor just so I can make swatches.

I bought some stencils for art journaling hoping they might inspire me. They haven't.

I've got new pens and inks too.

This bucket of new alcohol markers should have done it. Nope.

How about these new stamps? I see possibilities.

My new art journal is still empty though. Maybe tomorrow.

  2. I am the same. I have 6 boxes of different kind of pencils and watercolors, event attended a course. Nothing. Still just a burning desire to draw/paint. One day...

  4. Wow to the sketch....! I think the hurdle you (and I) have to overcome is the idea of being a beginner, a kidnergartener at our age! We want to just be good at the get go.
I have learned, it just ain't so!!!!
    Practice, practice, practice.
And attack that big blank page with a passion!

  5. Just dive in! You have such great taste in supplies that I know you will come up with something fabulous. And there will be fails. That's the part you have to learn to accept. It's about the process.
Your son, btw, is VERY talented!
And now I'm off to track down some Balzer stencils!

  8. That is a beautiful drawing. Well, if supplies will do it, the urge to draw should strike you very soon! I’m jealous of your alcohol markers. I’ve been eyeing them on Amazon and it Michaels lately.

  11. I used to draw when I was younger but always wanted to learn to paint. I have gone with the daughters to wine and canvas shows. Those are fun and I even have a couple "paintings" now. I had big intentions of doing it on my own after, didn't happen. Hope you find your inspiration!

  12. You are already so creative with everything you do (soaps, socks, quilts, cards, etc). I bet your kid inherited your talent!
