Short Supply

For some reason, in my mind, I have a giant stash of Reynolds Lopi.

It turns out I don't have a giant stash. I have a mediocre one-a few intact balls and lots of leftovers.

I used to make lots and lots of Lopi mittens so I was always ordering it from Patternworks. Just look at that price. You know that is one old skein.

I love my Lopi mittens and so does everyone else. I have a request for a pair from an employee at one of Daughter's ice rinks so I went online to buy some more.

Much to my horror I discovered-they don't make it anymore. Yes, they have something like it, even with the same color numbers but the fun color choices are slim to none. Goodness. I didn't see that coming. It was such a classic that I can't imagine not having a market for it.

I ordered some neutrals in hope that some of my stash would give me enough for a pair or two. While I am at it, I better make a pair or two for myself. Just in case.

  1. I cannot wait to see them. Maybe I'll knit up a pair. I hope your fil in yarn is a good substitute.
