Our Town

Every time The Mister and I talk about moving, it is the thought of what it looks like around here at Christmas that makes me want to stay. This year, in addition to the over-the-top lighting decor, we were surprised by the addition of a little synthetic ice rink at the end of the pier.

Daughter, who is the skating director for two "real" ice rinks in Washington, DC was horrified by it. It was tiny. It was plastic-but to kids who have never seen a real ice rink this must have been fun.

The city left the lights up on the pier a little bit longer than usual and I thought it was lovely.

What's better than a bonfire on the beach in January?

  1. It has been ages since I've skated but I have fond memories of taking all my kids to the rink when they were little. One of my sons now lives in DC....I'll have to tell him to check out the rinks there.

  2. That looks like a cute little rink. We were lucky - as kids we had a lake out back to skate on
