Needing My Head Examined

I always go into this post holiday Christmas spending frenzy. Unfortunately I buy things for the next Christmas and promptly lose interest in them. Exhibit A: This tissue box cover I bought last year-never opened. Too bad, as sick as I've been, I could have really used this.

Exhibit B: A needlepoint stocking I just bought for New Grandson for next year. Wanna bet it is still in the package come December? It would be easy money.

Speaking of New Grandson, I did finish his sampler and am off to get it framed once I feel well enough to figure out how to get the wrinkles out of it. This is the first cross stitch I have managed to finish in probably 25 years so getting it framed is going to be quite an adventure. I have several in process but rarely take them out to work on them. I still have Daughter's wedding sampler in the hoop so maybe, just maybe I will find the time to get a few stitches in it before anniversary number two rolls around in October.
I also want to say thank you to all the well wishers from yesterdays post. I suppose it is going to be 3 days coming, 3 days here and 3 days back for this miserable bug but your sweet comments yesterday made my day!
PS: It sounds crazy but cutting an onion in half and putting it on a plate next to your bed really stops those desperate midnight hack attacks. The place smells like a burger joint but I am finally able to get some sleep.

  1. The sampler looks great! You're not the only one with half-finished wedding gifts hanging around... my brother was married three years ago and I'm still working on his wedding quilt!
