The Lemon bars I made on Sunday turned out just fine.
On Monday I re-made Harlequin Romance. It was very popular during the last giveaway and I ran out so if you didn't get one to try I should have more this time to offer up.
Not bad. I think I like it.
On Tuesday I made some Blackberry Bliss.
It turned out pretty nice too.
On Wednesday it was Oatmeal, Milk and Honey's turn in the pot. It was a bit of a messy pour....
.....but it turned out just fine.
Soap Week was going along nicely until the problem child showed up. There's always one. I was surprised to see the batter turn that dark caramel color and thicken up before I had even added the scent or any coloring. Same recipe, same everything but what a difference. The only thing I did was mix the ingredients while the lye was hotter than it usually is. I think that glug of honey I always put in is what did it. I have to wait until tomorrow to see how this turns out. Stay tuned.
I'm betting your house smells good! They all look lovely, almost good enough to eat.
ReplyDeleteFor a hot second I thought you had baked lemon bar cookies and I was wondering about them, then I realized it was soap and felt a bit relieved.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so beautiful! Hopefully, the problem child will turn out well also. Bet the fragrance in your house is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice pile of soap!
ReplyDeleteWhen you play with chemistry, it's the details that make the difference! That hotter lye does crazy things! These look great!
